CHARLESTON – A former employee of a staffing service that provides employees to airlines alleges he was terminated shortly after reporting concerns about training.

Thomas Wheeler filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against DAL Global Services LLC and Darlene Barrett alleging wrongful/retaliatory discharge and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in November 2015, he resigned as Operational Logistics Manager for a major airline hub, LGS Sky Chefs at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, to accept a position at DAL Global Services at the Yeager Airport in Charleston. He alleges he discovered that DGS employees had not received proper aviation training and reported his concerns. He alleges he was terminated in retaliation for the complaint in November 2016.

The plaintiff holds DAL Global Services LLC and Barrett responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated plaintiff in retaliation for his complaints in violation of state policy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for compensatory, general and punitive damages; attorney's fees; costs; interest; and all other legal and/or equitable relief that the court deems just. He is represented by Michael P. Addair and Todd S. Bailess of Bailess Smith PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
