WHEELING – A Wheeling couple alleges a company it hired to do renovations in their home accepted money from a loan but did not complete the work.

Kyle Doyle and Carol Doyle filed a complaint in Ohio Circuit Court against Carter Contracting LLC, Kristian Carter and Main Street Bank Corp. alleging fraud, breach of contract, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege on Aug. 30, 2017, they executed a note to borrow $74,500 from defendant Main Street Bank Corp for home improvement. The suit states the renovation was to be done by Carter Contracting LLC pursuant to their agreement.

The plaintiffs allege Carter Contracting and Carter accepted money from the aforesaid loan without completing the project under contract.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit of the court, punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs, prejudgment interest, post-judgment interest, statutory awards and relief, and other additional relief the court deems just and proper. They are represented by David A. Jividen of Jividen Law Offices PLLC in Wheeling.
