HUNTINGTON – A Cabell County man alleges the negligence of a physician and the physician's employer led to the death of his aunt.

William Perry, executor of the estate of Camilla Bailey, filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Radiology Inc. and Lee Corey Haikal, M.D. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 15, 2016, Bailey underwent an endovascular aortic repair performed by Haikal. He alleges the physician used a PerClose Proglide inappropriately, which proximately caused Bailey's death Aug. 17, 2016.

The plaintiff holds Radiology Inc. and Haikal responsible because Haikal allegedly lacked the skill and experience to use the device appropriately.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, expenses for the care, treatment and hospitalization of the decedent, funeral expenses, loss of anticipated benefits and services, other economic and non-economic damages, taxable court costs and interests. He is represented by Ben Salango of Preston & Salango PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Christopher D. Chiles.
