Black man alleges Little General Store wrongfully accused him of selling alcohol to an underage customer

CHARLESTON – A black man alleges his race was a factor in his termination from his job.

Daz Martin filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Little General Store Inc. alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

The suit states that the plaintiff was employed by the defendant and was forced to quit after being wrongfully accused of selling alcohol to an underage customer. He alleges Caucasian employees did sell alcohol to underage customers and were not fired or forced to quit.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by D. Adrian Hoosier of Hoosier Law Firm PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Joanna Tabit.
