Woman alleges carpet in room of Knights Inn concealed hole she fell through

CHARLESTON – A Charleston woman alleges she was injured in a hotel room after stepping in a hole that was concealed by carpet.

Michele Cottrell filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Knights Inn Capital Holds Inc.

The suit states that the plaintiff was at the defendant's Charleston facility on July 24, 2017. The plaintiff alleges on that date she walked over to turn off the air conditioning unit in the motel room and her right leg fell through the floor. She alleges the carpet was covering a 2-foot deep hole in the floor. She alleges the incident caused health issues and surgery.

The plaintiff is representing herself.
