WILLIAMSON — A woman is suing Mountain State Boutique alleging that she was sexually assaulted by one of its owners.

Mountain State Boutique, Leonard Keith Gibson and Courtney Sipple were all named as defendants in the suit.

Brittany Ray applied for and was hired by Mountain State Boutique after contacting Gibson about a job she had seen advertised and was to begin her employment on Feb. 29, 2020, according to a complaint filed in Mingo Circuit Court.

Ray claims she had let Gibson know the night before that her father would be bringing her the next day because of the snow, and Gibson asked if she would like to ride around in his truck all day plowing snow, which she declined.

She claims when she reported for work on Feb. 29, 2020, Gibson inappropriately touched her midsection on multiple occasions without her consent and grabbed her by the hips. She claims when she reported for work on March 6, 2020, Gibson pressed his groin into her buttocks and grabbed her genitalia without her consent.

Ray alleges that Gibson forced her into a room, pinned her down and sexually assaulted her. She reported the sexual assault and quit her employment.

Ray is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is represented by Michael P. Addair of Addair Law Office.
