CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Attorney General’s office is stepping into a lawsuit regarding the price of asphalt. On Jan. 10, a lawyer for the state Department of Transportation told legislators the agency has an agreement with Patrick Morrisey’s office to handle the case.
CHICAGO – Animal feed manufacturer Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) is currently facing a lawsuit alleging it produced horse feed with an ingredient, monensin, that is poisonous to horses.

BECKLEY – A federal judge says two companies owned by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jim Justice owe more than $2 million from a 2013 coal deal. On March 11, U.S. District Judge Irene Berger issued a memorandum opinion and order granting summary judgment to Thomas K. Lampert of Pennsylvania. He is trustee for the Thomas K. HUNTINGTON – A woman is suing TLK Group in a class action lawsuit after she claims it violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act. Terina M. Hamilton was employed by TLK until Feb. 22, 2014, according to a complaint filed Jan. 19 in Cabell Circuit Court.
PRINCETON – A man is suing Captain D’s in a class action lawsuit after he claims it violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act. Isaac Crabtree was employed by Captain D’s until his employment was involuntarily terminated in September, according to a complaint filed Feb. 9 in Mercer Circuit Court.
LOGAN – Ellis Supply Inc. is suing the LaFayette Insurance Company after it claims the insurance company was negligent in marketing insurance policies.
