CHARLESTON – A former principal is suing the Kanawha County Board of Education after he claims it defamed his character and invaded his privacy. Pete Thaw, a member of the board, was also named as a defendant in the suit. Clinton Giles was employed in various capacities by the defendant for 34 years and was employed as assistance principal of Capital High School when it opened and was the school’s principal from 2002 until 2015, according to a complaint filed Jan. 25 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
CHARLESTON – A Nitro woman is suing the city and the Kanawha County Board of Education after she tripped on the sidewalk and was injured On May 24, 2014, Debra Johnston was walking on the sidewalk adjacent and surrounding Nitro High School and, as a result of the condition of the sidewalk, she fell and injured her left wrist/forearm, according to a complaint filed Jan. 4 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
CHARLESTON – A counselor at George Washington High School says the principal has pushed her to retire and spread false information about her. Mary “Kackie” Eller filed her lawsuit Aug. 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court against the Kanawha County Board of Education and GW Principal George Aulenbacher.
CHARLESTON – Longtime Capital High School boys basketball coach Carl Clark has filed a discrimination suit against the Kanawha County Board of Education. Clark, who has been a coach at the Charleston school since it opened in 1989, filed his complaint earlier this month in Kanawha Circuit Court.
