CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County woman is suing Otis Elevator Company after she claims it fired her because she was pregnant and needed to be put on bed rest. Rebecca A. Hunter was employed by Otis for more than six years as its officer manager for its Big Chimney location, according to a complaint filed March 21 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

HUNTINGTON – A woman is suing Hobby Lobby after she claims she was injured when she fell in the store’s parking lot. Schottenstein Property Group Inc. and Schottenstein Property Group LLC were also named as defendants in the suit. On Jan. 16, 2014, Saundra Kay Morrison was exiting Hobby Lobby in order to return to her vehicle after making purchases, according to a complaint filed Jan. 8 in Cabell Circuit Court.
BECKLEY – A man is suing Greenbrier Minerals LLC after he claims his employment was wrongfully terminated in violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act. Nathan Brada was also named as a defendant in the suit. John T.
LOGAN – A Logan County man is suing his former employer, a grocery store in Logan, over claims of disability discrimination that resulted in his being wrongfully terminated.
LOGAN – A Mallory woman is suing Three Mile Curve Operations LLC after she claims she was discriminated against because she rebuffed her supervisor’s advances. Kathy Cox was also named as a defendant in the suit. Kristi D.
HUNTINGTON – A Kentucky man is suing his former employer, a Cabell County hospital, over claims of disability discrimination that led to his termination. Benny A. Ooten of Catlettsburg filed a lawsuit in Cabell Circuit Court against Cabell Huntington Hospital, alleging disability discrimination in violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.
HUNTINGTON – A man is suing Davis H. Elliot Construction Company Inc. after he claims it discriminated against him and wrongfully terminated his employment. Shannon L. Meade was employed by the defendant at its Scott Depot location from Feb. 2 until June, according to a complaint filed in Putnam Circuit Court and removed to federal court.
HUNTINGTON – A woman is suing Dutch Miller Kia after she claims it failed to conform a vehicle to its warranties. DM Motor Inc. is doing business as Dutch Miller Kia.
PINEVILLE – A Mallory man is suing a coal mining installation company, alleging he was laid off from his job because he took time off to care for his mother.
