Kanawha court official resigns

CHARLESTON - Kanawha County's court administrator resigned last week and plans to return to private practice.

Bill Murray, who had been court administrator since 2001, has reportedly said he might run for Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney in 2008.

Murray is a 53-year-old Charleston lawyer who will join the law practice of John Mitchell Sr. for now.

His resignation is effect Oct. 15. The seven circuit court judges will meet to discuss the vacancy.
