Prunty
CHARLESTON -- Allen R. Prunty has joined Robinson & McElwee PLLC as Of Counsel in the Charleston office.
Prunty, a Fairmont native, received his law degree from West Virginia University. Most recently, Prunty practiced in New York City where his experience included serving as a legal advisor to Swiss Trust Bank, an off-shore bank located in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and as Special Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Law Department. Prior to working in New York, Prunty practiced in Charleston for 22 years with Jackson Kelly where, in addition to practicing law, he served in a variety of management positions.
Prunty is admitted to practice law in West Virginia and New York, and before numerous federal appellate courts including the United States Supreme Court.
In addition to his professional experience, Prunty has 30 years political experience working in and managing local, statewide, and national campaigns. He is a former member of the Kanawha County Democrat Executive Committee and a former treasurer of the West Virginia State Democratic Executive Committee, was a 1990 Democratic nominee to the West Virginia House of Delegates from Kanawha County, has served on a national lawyers political council affiliated with the Democratic National Committee, and served as West Virginia state legal counsel for both of President Clinton's campaigns.
Prunty will concentrate his practice on general litigation including toxic torts, products liability, occupational injury and disease matters, West Virginia workers' compensation and federal black lung.
