Spilman Thomas & Battle providing scholarship to WVU students

CHARLESTON -— The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has announced that a firm-sponsored scholarship was awarded to four West Virginia University students for the 2011-12 academic year.

This year's award recipients were Ryan Ford, Evan Harris, Austin Isinghood and Alexandria Lemley.

"We are so pleased to recognize excellence in West Virginia's youth by providing this financial assistance to support them in pursuing their dreams," said Michael J. Basile, Spilman's managing member.

The Spilman, Thomas & Battle PLLC Scholarship was established to support students who wish to attend WVU and who reside in counties where the firm has offices, including Kanawha, Monongalia and Ohio Counties. Students must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is renewable if students maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. while attending WVU full time.
