AFT-WV endorses Davis for re-election

Davis

CHARLESTON – Robin Davis has accepted the endorsement of a statewide education group for her re-election bid to the West Virginia Supreme Court.

The American Federation of Teachers -– West Virginia voted to endorse Davis based on her strong advocacy for education issues, including her leadership on the Court's initiative to reduce truancy and early drop-out rates.

"Robin Davis understands the challenges we face in public education, and she has proven a strong advocate and a leader time and time again," said Judy Hale, AFT-WV president. "We appreciate her work, and we know how much she appreciates our work."

"My mother was a school teacher/administrator, so I have deep respect for our teachers and school service personnel," Davis said. "West Virginia's children are the future of our state, and I am proud to have earned the support of the AFT – WV."

AFT-WV represents all teachers and school service personnel, including bus drivers, cafeteria workers and clerical workers throughout the state. The AFT is an affiliated international union of the AFL-CIO.
