HUNTINGTON — A customer service employee is suing AT&T, alleging disability discrimination and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Corey Ferrell, of Huntington, filed a complaint March 9 in Cabell Circuit Court against AT&T Services Inc., alleging violation of Article VIII of the West Virginia Constitution.

According to the complaint,Ferrell began working for AT&T Feb. 22, 2016, as a customer service employee.

The suit says on Aug. 28, Ferrell was terminated from his employment after unwarranted complaints from his employer led to an anxiety disorder and a panic attack that required time off from work.

As a result, Ferrell says he has suffered loss of income and benefits, loss of employment, mental anguish and embarrassment.

The plaintiff alleges AT&T Services failed to provide reasonable accommodation, refused to allow him to return to work and terminated him for exhausting his Family and Medical Leave Act leave.

Ferrell seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, plus interest, costs of court and all other relief the court deems fair and proper. He is represented by attorney Hoyt Glazer of the Law Office of Hoyt Glazer PLLC in Huntington.
