Debt collector removes magistrate case to federal court

CHARLESTON – In an unusual move, a debt collection harassment case seeking less than $10,000 plus attorney fees has been removed from magistrate court to federal court.

CHARLESTON – A lifelong nonsmoker nurse who was diagnosed with lung cancer after working in various hospitals and medical facilities during her career says Fairmont State University and others have pulled a bait-and-switch in her asbestos case against them.

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced artwork by students from central and southeastern West Virginia, who are regional winners of the office’s eighth Kids Kick Opioids contest, will be on display at the State Capitol building from Sept. 30 to Oct. 6.
