R&L Transfer seeks damages from Sierra Carriers, driver over tractor-trailer collision near Institute

CHARLESTON – An Ohio company is seeking damages from a Texas company and its driver over allegations it incurred more than $80,000 in damages because of a collision on an interstate in Kanawha County.

R&L Transfer Inc. filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Sierra Carriers LLC and Eric Mbarushimana alleging negligence and other counts.

The suit states on Sept. 30, 2017, on Interstate 64 near Institute, Mbarushimana was operating a tractor-trailer during his employment with Sierra Carriers and pulled out in front of a tractor-trailer owned by the plaintiff, causing a collision. The plaintiff alleges it incurred damages of $86,621 as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by William J. Hanna and Mitchell B. Tuggle of Flaherty, Sensabaugh, Bonasso PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Louis Bloom.
