Customer alleges New Orleans Coffee House failed to warn of standing water

CHARLESTON – A woman is suing a St. Albans coffee shop alleging that she slipped and fell due to standing water.

Sheree Cadle filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Kline Enterprises LLC, doing business as New Orleans Coffee House, alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's location in St. Albans on May 24, 2018. The plaintiff alleges she was in the defendant's restroom and encountered standing water that caused her to slip and fall, striking her face and head on the toilet.

She alleges the defendant failed to warn of the standing water.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Phillip Estep and Kurt Entsminger of Estep Entsminger Law Group PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Charles King.
