Man alleges Reagent Chemical & Research terminated him because he is older than 60

HUNTINGTON – A Hurricane man is suing his former employer alleging that he was unfairly terminated because of his age.

Jack Kuhn Jr. filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Reagent Chemical & Research Inc. alleging age discrimination in violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

The suit states that the plaintiff was employed by the defendant for almost 42 years. The suit states on May 2, he was notified that his position was being eliminated. He alleges he was 66 at the time of his termination and that the position was not eliminated, but was instead filled by a younger employee.

The plaintiff alleges he was terminated because of his age.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Richard W. Walters and Carl W. Shaffer of Shaffer & Shaffer PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Christopher Chiles.
