CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County couple alleges they were sold a defective vehicle by a South Charleston dealership.

William O. Jordan and Zona Anne Jordan filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Joe Holland Chevrolet Inc., doing business as Joe Holland Hyundai and Hyundai Motor America Inc., citing the state's lemon laws.

The suit states that the plaintiffs purchased a new Hyundai 2018 Sonata Sport from the defendant on Jan. 26. The vehicle allegedly had a defect that made it unsafe to drive and the plaintiffs returned it to the dealer on March 11 for repair. The defendant allegedly has failed to repair the vehicle's defect in a reasonable amount of time and the plaintiffs are seeking damages for their trouble.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by Andrew S. Nason of Pepper & Nason in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Jennifer Bailey.
