Car accident 28

PRINCETON – A Bluefield woman who was injured in a head-on vehicle crash is suing the driver of the vehicle that struck her and his employer.

According to a filing in Mercer Circuit Court, Hope Mattox filed the civil suit against Troy Lee Hager and his employer Frontier Communications of America Inc. alleging negligence.

The suit states Mattox was traveling on North Street in Bluefield in April 2018 when Hager failed to yield when making a turn and struck her vehicle head-on. The suit states Hager was operating a Frontier vehicle at the time of the collision.

"As a direct and proximate result of the negligence of defendant Hager, while acting within the scope of employment with defendant Frontier, the plaintiff has suffered pain and suffering along with mental anguish," the suit states.

Mattox also claims in her suit that due to Hager's alleged negligence, her car was totaled and she has suffered inconvenience and incurred charges for wrecker service and storage fees.

Mattox seeks pre- and post-judgment interests, attorney's fees among her relief.  She is represented by Stephanie Pfeifer in Princeton.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Derek Swope.
