CHARLESTON — A man is suing two Charleston bars claiming he was injured when a bouncer punched him.

Vckkc Inc., Scott Cameron and unknown individuals were also named as defendants in the suit. Vckkc Inc. is doing business as Vino's Bar and Grill and The Copper Pint Pub. The bars are located next to each other on Kanawha Boulevard East in downtown Charleston.

Brandon Dawson walked out of The Copper Pint Club on June 7, 2019, with Kenneth Dodd and Justin Robins when he was attacked by an ex-girlfriend, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

A bouncer from Vino's then punched Dawson in the face, according to the suit. Dawson claims the bouncer was negligent and caused him to suffer damages.

The defendants owed a duty of care to the people at the bars to keep them reasonably safe, according to the suit.

Dawson is seeking compensatory damages. He is represented by Kevin Davis in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
