WHEELING — A couple is suing Straub Nissan for a car accident.
Vanessa R. Smith was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Sara N. Beranek was in her 2015 Ford Explorer on July 3, 2019, when Smith, who was operating a vehicle owned by Straub, struck her, according to a complaint filed in Ohio Circuit Court.
Beranek and her husband, Carl T. Beranek, claim the collision caused Sara Beranek to suffer personal injuries because Smith was following too closely, was speeding and failed to take the necessary measures to avoid a collision.
Straub negligently, carelessly and improperly entrusted Smith with a vehicle, according to the suit.
The Beraneks claim the defendants were negligent and caused Sara Beranek's injuries.
The Beraneks are seeking compensatory damages. They are represented by Christopher M. Turak of Gold Khourey & Turak in Moundsville.
