Davis CHARLESTON – Pittsburgh attorneys who represented coal companies of Jim Justice can't switch sides and represent a client suing his companies, the Supreme Court of Appeals has ruled.

Massey sues MSHA over scrubber rules

Blankenship WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Massey Energy, the owner of the Montcoal mine where 29 workers died in an April 5 explosion, filed a federal lawsuit against the Mine Safety and Health Administration and three of its officials Tuesday, alleging the agency will not allow Massey to implement ventilation plans that would improve the safety of its mines.

Recht rules for CSX in brain damage cases

Recht WHEELING -- Circuit Judge Arthur Recht granted summary judgment to CSX Transportation in seven suits blaming the railroad for brain damage in workers, after declaring medical evidence behind the suits unreliable.
