Supreme Court rejects lawsuit over online voter registration

CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals has rejected a lawsuit filed against Cabell and Kanawha County clerks over their refusal to accept online voter registrations from the Secretary of State’s Office.

Unnamed man sues Mylan Pharmaceuticals for ADA violations

CLARKSBURG – An unnamed man is suing Mylan Pharmaceuticals after he claims it violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. John Doe has had a seizure disorder since approximately 1998 and became employed by Mylan on June 18, 2007, according to a complaint filed March 17 in Monongalia Circuit Court and removed to federal court on April 27.

Wooton asks Walker if she wants to be a 'purchased justice'

BECKLEY – A state Supreme Court candidate is asking a fellow candidate if she wants to be viewed as being a “purchased justice.” Bill Wooton says a recent influx of advertising by the Republican State Leadership Committee is “an attempt to influence the outcome of our non-partisan Supreme Court race.” According to filings with the Secretary of State’s office, the RSLC has spent a little more than $2 on the ads in the last two weeks.

AG's office warns of impostor phone call scam

CHARLESTON – West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is warning consumers to beware of an impostor scam in which callers claim to be from the Attorney General’s Office. Morrisey’s Consumer Protection Division has received several calls in the last month. Like other impostor scams, these consumers report receiving calls that demand payment for unpaid taxes and threaten arrest unless the consumer pays immediately.
