WAYNE – A man is suing Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co. after he claims it violated the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act. After Gerald Curry became in arrears upon the alleged indebtedness to the defendant upon his account and the defendant began to engage in collection of such indebtedness through the use of telephone calls placed to Curry and by written communications, according to a complaint filed in Wayne Circuit Court.
WAYNE — A consumer has filed a class-action lawsuit against Resurgent Capital Services LP, a debt collector, citing alleged unlawful collection practices.

CHARLESTON – A Wayne County couple is suing Rite Aid of West Virginia after they claim it filled two prescriptions with the wrong medications. Rite Aid Headquarters Corporations, Claudine Griffiths and John Doe were also named as defendants in the suit.
WAYNE – Foodfair Inc. filed an answer to the plaintiff’s complaint in a lawsuit against it and Mars Chocolate North America LLC alleging an object was in a bag of peanut M&Ms that caused the plaintiff to break a tooth. WAYNE – A Wayne man is suing Wal-Mart after he claims he was injured when he fell on its property. On Jan. 30, 2014, Donald Skaggs walked into the restroom at the Wal-Mart in Wayne, when he slipped on the wet floor and fell down, according to a complaint filed Feb. 1 in Wayne Circuit Court.
WAYNE – A woman is suing Midland Funding after she claims it violated the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act. Between January 2012 and February 2014, the defendant contacted Brandy S. Hayton numerous times over a debt that Hayton disputed and Midland did not respond with a notice of investigation or actually conduct an investigation, according to a complaint filed Feb. 16 in Wayne Circuit Court.
