BECKLEY – A woman is suing the Sherwin-Williams Company after she claims she was injured while working. An unknown, unnamed woman who has a business relationship with Sherwin-Williams, was also named as a defendant in the suit.
WILLIAMSON – A Dingess woman is suing Longa-Mingo Area Mental Health Inc. after she claims her employment was wrongfully terminated when she refused to falsify documents.
CHARLESTON – Two lawsuits have been filed against Blackhawk Mining and one of its supervisors after the plaintiffs claim they were discriminated against. Rodney Robinette was employed by the defendants in June 2005 and on Dec. 14, 2014, he was advised he was being terminated as part of a companywide layoff, according to one of the complaints, which was filed in October in Boone Circuit Court and removed to federal court on Dec. 28.
HUNTINGTON – Consol of Kentucky Inc. filed an answer to a lawsuit alleging work injuries occurred at its Twin Branch surface mine in Mingo County.

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County woman is suing Otis Elevator Company after she claims it fired her because she was pregnant and needed to be put on bed rest. Rebecca A. Hunter was employed by Otis for more than six years as its officer manager for its Big Chimney location, according to a complaint filed March 21 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
