A West Virginia inmate is suing West Virginia Division of Corrections, McDowell County Commission, Ralph Terry, Dennis Dingus, Bea Shelton, Shae Lockhart and David Jackson for allegedly violating his civil rights when he was transferred to another prison.
MORGANTOWN – Debra Scudiere of Kay Casto & Chaney has been appointed as a member of the West Virginia Industrial Council. She was nominated by Gov. Jim Justice last month and the West Virginia Senate recently approved his nomination and her appointment.
MORGANTOWN – The January 2014 water crisis following the Freedom Industries' chemical leak affected more than 225,000 Kanawha Valley residents, workers and businesses. People had to purchase bottled water to drink and cook and had to travel outside the area to bathe. Businesses were affected too, especially restaurants, medical offices, hotels and others that depend on safe, clean water for daily operations.
MORGANTOWN – The defendants have filed a reply to Morgantown City Clerk Linda Tucker’s response to their motion to dismiss in her lawsuit alleging she was retaliated against “As noted in the defendants’ motion to dismiss, the plaintiff still has her job; she has not been fired; she has not been demoted; she has not been disciplined; her pay has not been cut; her staff has been increased; and she has not been kept from performing any of her official duties,” the defendants’ May 4 reply states.
MORGANTOWN – Morgantown City Clerk Linda Tucker is asking District Judge Irene M. Keeley to deny the city’s motion to dismiss in her lawsuit against it, the mayor and three city council members.
