Putnam Circuit Clerk employees' pay grievance denied for now
WINFIELD – Employees of the Putnam County Circuit Clerk’s office now are playing the waiting game after taking their pay grievance to the county commission. The three Putnam County Commissioners met in executive session Tuesday morning after their regularly scheduled meeting to listen to the grievance that was filed last month. “Deny at this time, but we’ll do further research for our next budget hearing,” Commissioner Steve Andes said when the meeting was opened back to the public.

CLARKSBURG – Two West Virginia women have filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Lumber Liquidators Inc., alleging that a line of Chinese wood flooring sold by the company emits “excessive” levels of formaldehyde and has cost them thousands of dollars. Wheeling Jesuit parents sue dead son's attackers, bars that served them
WHEELING – The parents of a former Wheeling Jesuit University student have filed a federal lawsuit against the two men who allegedly “viciously attacked” their son, resulting in his death, and the two Wheeling bars that allegedly served the men. Thomas and Valerie Figaniak filed the lawsuit on behalf of their son, Kevin Figaniak, who was a 21-year-old student at Wheeling Jesuit in 2013. The Figaniaks filed their lawsuit Aug. 24 in the U.S.
German drug maker files patent lawsuit against Mylan
WHEELING – A German pharmaceutical company has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Morgantown-based Mylan Pharmaceuticals. Plaintiff Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc. contends that defendant Mylan submitted Abbreviated New Drug Applications, or ANDAs, to the Food and Drug Administration seeking the approval to make and sell generic versions of Boehringer’s Tradjenta and Jentadueto tablets.
