Man sues P&S Transportation for 'pinballing' driver's property damages
CLARKSBURG – A man is suing P&S Transportation after he claims one of its drivers damaged his property. On April 10, 2014, a driver employed by P&S drove a tractor trailer on Beverlin Ford Road in Doddridge County and was acting within the scope of his employment when he pin-balled down the rural road, colliding with fences, gates and guardrails along the way, according to a complaint filed Dec. 21 in Doddridge Circuit Court and removed to federal court on Feb. 10. -

CLARKSBURG – A man is suing John Skidmore Development Inc. for discriminating against him for attempting to receive workers’ compensation benefits. John K. Skidmore II and Gregory B. Skidmore were also named as defendants in the suit. The defendants removed the lawsuit to federal court because the federal court is the correct jurisdiction, as the plaintiff’s first cause of action arises under federal law. -

CHARLESTON – A woman is suing 3D Construction after she claims it discriminated against her and invaded her privacy. Laura Daniel was also named as a defendant in the suit. Nichole Ballard was hired as a secretary by 3D in August 2013 and since her date of hire, she has been subjected to severe and pervasive sexual harassment and a hostile work environment by Daniel, according to a complaint filed in Wood Circuit Court and removed to federal court. -

Man accuses Eastern Associated Coal of age discrimination
CLARKSBURG – A man is suing Eastern Associated Coal LLC after he claims it discriminated against him because of his age. Henry Metz was employed by Martinka/Tygart River Mine and was laid off when it was closed in 1995, according to a complaint filed Nov. 23 in Monongalia Circuit Court and removed to federal court on Dec. 21. An amended complaint was filed on Jan. 7. -
U.S. Postal Service hit with two federal car accident lawsuits
CLARKSBURG – Two lawsuits have been filed against the United States Postal Service for injuries sustained from a car accident. The United States and Christopher Alan Parrotta also were named as defendants in the suit. On Dec. 18, 2013, the defendants were the owner of a postal vehicle being driven by Parrotta, who was employed as a postal worker, according to two complaints filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.
